Art Education Australia aims and objectives
The aims of the Institute are to:
- perform a cohesive role amongst Visual Arts educators;
- encourage and promote all facets of Visual Arts education;
- provide a national focus for all such activity in Australia;
- provide a national forum and opportunity for the exchange of ideas for all people working in Australia in aspects of Visual Arts education, and to provide advice and assistance for all such people;
- uphold and promote the National Policies for Visual Arts Education developed by the Institute.
In pursuit of these aims, the Institute shall:
- represent and speak for Visual Arts Education in Australia and for Australian Visual Arts Education in an international context;
- liaise with other organisations working in fields relevant to education, particularly those related to education in and through the Arts;
- produce publications and other materials as deemed appropriate by Council or by Executive resolution;
- actively encourage research in Visual Arts Education, and provide a forum for the presentation of papers in this area and their publications;
- conduct national and regional conferences for Visual Arts Education as deemed appropriate by Council or by Executive resolution
- provide consultative services on such aspects of Visual Arts Education as are deemed appropriate by Council or by Executive resolution.
