Art Education Australia 2009 Research Symposium

Monash University, Caulfield, Melbourne, 16th November 2009

PUBLICATION OF SYMPOSIUM PAPERS

The editor of Australian Art Education (AAE) received a significant number of Symposium papers for possible publication in the special 2009 on-line edition of the journal. The high number of submissions (over 70% of presentations) was unexpected and much welcomed, and spoke highly of the enthusiasm and quality of art education research emerging in Australia at the moment. All papers have now been peer-reviewed, and authors can expect feedback in the near future.

However, due to the volume of manuscripts, the Symposium Conveners and the Editor of AAE have had to re-consider the publication schedule of manuscripts that successfully meet review requirements. Those papers will now be published in three stages:

  • Now available. The 2009 on-line issue of AAE includes 7 papers of general interest, including position papers and those with a more theoretical bent.
  • The first 2010 print issue of AAE will include a suite of papers that for a number of reasons would otherwise miss the publication deadline for the 2009 on-line version.
  • The second 2010 print issue of AAE will include those Symposium papers that constitute an “Early Childhood” Special Edition.
