Follow the journey on the web of artist Nicholas Hutcheson, through his drawings and notes, as he travels aboard the ship the Aurora Australis to the Antarctic as part of the Australian Governments Antarctic arts fellowship. This is an invaluable learning experience for students to watch the process and development of the artists drawings and to communicate with the artist as he responds visually to this eight week journey.

Art Education Advocacy and Policy Development

The following two position papers have been written by the Tertiary Art Education Group of Victoria (TAEV), a sub-group of Art Education Victoria (AEV) for the purpose of art education advocacy.

The papers have been endorsed by the Australian Council of University Art and Design Schools (ACUADS), the Executive of Art Education Australia (AEA) and the Council of Art Education Victoria (AEV).

They are published here for art teachers and other educators to use for art education advocacy and policy development within schools, regions and beyond. Copying of the papers is permitted for these educational purposes as long as acknowledgement of the authoring group is included.

Congress Proceedings CD-ROM

Proceedings of the 30th International Society for Education through Art (InSEA) World Congress held in Brisbane Australia, from 21 - 26 September 1999.

InSEA World Congresses are usually held every three years, and are based on the continuing belief that education through art is a means of promoting international understanding and cultural cooperation. The aim of the "Cultures and Transitions" congress in Brisbane was to provide a forum for the extension of world cooperation in the exchange of ideas and cultural contributions in the visual arts.

The congress featured more than 220 speakers from 34 nations and attracted over 500 delegates. This CD contains a selection of papers presented at the congress and provides a valuable educational resource for art educators, and those interested in art worldwide.
