Consisting 300 pieces of free standing student artworks, it stands beautifully on the Canberra Lakeshore. Federal Labor, the Greens and ACT government made a commitment to their permanency in mid 2007.
 
The Australian Art Education association via its networks, encouraged students, teachers and artists from around Australia to contribute to this lasting memorial to the lives lost. The sinking of the SIEVX is a tragic episode in Australias recent history.
