Art Education Australia Inc. (AEA) is the peak national professional association that supports, promotes and advocates for visual art education at all levels as an integral part of general education and specialist art education practice and research within Australia. As the national peak body, AEA represents and advocates for the visual arts education and teaching profession in national arts and education contexts, and at  national and international peak associations and contexts.

AEA contributes to the visual art education community through supporting a network of collaborative relationships with visual arts education stakeholder associations across state/territory, national and international contexts. These connections have been brokered over the extended history of AEA by the many different Executive groups that have driven AEA over the years in alignment with the Association’s constitutional purposes.

Any school, association or organisation pursuing similar goals and purposes may apply to become part of the AEA comunity through Associate Membership.
